Zendaya, Elliot Page, and Lupita Nyong'o Have Tiny Roles in The Odyssey

Three of the biggest stars billed for Christopher Nolan’s 173-minute epic The Odyssey barely appear on screen, sharing under 20 minutes of total runtime. Zendaya’s portrayal of Athena lasts roughly 8 to 9 minutes, Elliot Page appears as Sinon for about 5.5 minutes, and Lupita Nyong'o gets under 5 minutes of screen time.

This massive gap between high billing and minimal presence is a deliberate strategy Nolan previously utilized in Oppenheimer, casting A-list talent for brief but pivotal roles. Instead of an ensemble focus, the narrative heavily belongs to Matt Damon’s Odysseus, who commands roughly 95% of the movie, alongside Tom Holland’s Telemachus. The rest of the star-studded cast simply orbits the two leads.
