While filming out on the open sea, a pod of wild dolphins began swimming alongside the ship, crashing a serene close-up of Matt Damon's Odysseus. Cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema reacted instantly, capturing the moment on an IMAX camera.
Nolan expressed immense pride in the footage, noting that many people falsely assume the animals are CGI. Damon later joked that when the dolphins showed up by complete accident, Nolan simply "gave them a role." Fans have praised the authentic moment, calling it a blessing from Poseidon.
