On "The Tonight Show," Tom Holland laughed off being ghosted by Manchester City striker Erling Haaland. After spotting him at the Monaco Grand Prix, Holland sent a friendly DM offering to take him to dinner, only to be left on read. "Not even a response... nada," Holland recalled, calling it a humbling experience while still praising the Norwegian as an "absolute legend."
Haaland’s explanation is even funnier. On the Norwegian show "A-laget," he admitted he rarely watches movies and genuinely assumed the message came from a random stranger, as the name Tom Holland meant nothing to him.
The penny only dropped mid-interview when someone off-camera shouted, "Tom Holland, Spider-Man!" A sheepish Haaland called the mix-up "a bit embarrassing" and joked that he now owes the actor a reply. However, Holland reckons the dinner invitation is officially off anyway, following England’s recent 2-1 victory over Norway.
