A popular tactical strategy franchise is officially getting an anime adaptation titled Zero Line, with its very first pilot footage world premiering at Japan Expo Paris. The project is directed by Hiroyasu Kobayashi, a board director and designer at the legendary Studio Khara (known for the Evangelion films), who previously served as CGI director on Promare.
Animation production is handled by Safehouse (Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance), with a powerful score by composer Go Shiina, who recently won Best Soundtrack at the 2026 Crunchyroll Anime Awards for Demon Slayer. The premiere event also featured a live drawing performance from acclaimed character designer Yusuke Kozaki (Fire Emblem, Pokémon GO).
This project marks another exciting crossover between gaming and anime, backed by genuine industry heavyweights. It is definitely one to watch for fans of tactical strategy, mecha, and military animation.
