The live action Naruto movie is finally officially in pre production after 11 years of waiting
Lionsgate first announced they were working on a Naruto live action adaptation all the way back in 2015, but the project stalled for years before.

Destin Daniel Cretton, the director behind Shang Chi and Spider Man Brand New Day, officially came on board to direct and write it. In an Instagram post, Cretton announced that the global casting search has officially begun for Team 7, meaning Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura.

Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of Naruto, also shared an emotional statement saying it genuinely feels like a miracle that his work is becoming a Hollywood movie.

Kishimoto will reportedly be directly involved in the production, which is a good sign for how faithful the adaptation could turn out.

This news also comes right after the massive success of the One Piece live action, proving anime adaptations can actually work when handled with care and real effort
