Swearing Parrots Separated After Formidable Pub-Grade Insult Cycle

At Lincolnshire Wildlife Park in England, five African grey parrots named Billy, Eric, Tyson, Jade, and Elsie were quarantined together after arriving from different owners. Within days, the birds formed a hilarious, foul-mouthed group dynamic, hurling heavy pub-grade insults at staff and visitors alike. The park's chief executive joked that he was personally called a "fat something" every time he walked past.

The vulgar behavior escalated due to a feedback loop: one parrot would swear, the others would laugh, and the reaction egged them on further. To break the cycle, staff separated the birds across different enclosures, hoping they would pick up calmer sounds from the colony's 200 other greys. 

While the park intervened to protect younger ears, the staff noted that barely any visitors complained—most simply chose to swear right back at the birds.
