Princess Leonor of Spain is making history at just 20 years old as she prepares to become the country's first reigning queen since Isabella II in 1868. Her preparation is groundbreaking. On July 10, 2026, she graduated from an intensive three-year military program, rotating through the Army, Navy, and Air Force to become the first Spanish royal woman to complete all three branches. During her service, she qualified as a paratrooper and piloted a military plane solo.
Beyond her tactical achievements, she is highly multilingual, speaking fluent Spanish, English, French, and Catalan, alongside working knowledge of other languages. In September 2026, she will continue her preparation by beginning a degree in Political Science.
