Netflix's live action Solo Leveling continues to build out an impressive roster

Rain, also known as Jung Ji-hoon, is confirmed to play Baek Yoon-ho, the S-rank hunter and Guild Master of the White Tiger Guild, a casting that Korean fans have widely praised as a strong physical and presence match for the character.

Alongside him, veteran actor Lee Sung-min is reported to be joining as Go Gun-hee, the S-rank hunter who serves as Chairman of the Korean Hunters Association, though this particular casting is still at the reported stage rather than fully locked by an official announcement.

They join an already stacked lineup led by Byeon Woo-seok as Sung Jin-woo, Han So-hee as Cha Hae-in, Kang You-seok as Yoo Jin-ho, and Kang Mi-na in a role widely believed to be Sung Jin-ah. The series is co-directed by Lee Hae-jun and Kim Byung-seo, the pair behind Ashfall, with production handled by Netflix, Kakao Entertainment, and SANAI Pictures.

Filming reportedly began around May 2026 for a run of about seven episodes, and Netflix has promised world-leading VFX for the dungeon battles and monster fights, which is exactly where a project like this lives or dies.

The pressure could not be higher given that the Solo Leveling anime became the most watched in Crunchyroll history and swept the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards. Casting recognizable, capable actors for the S-rank hunters is a smart way to build trust with a fanbase this passionate. Does Rain feel like the right pick for Baek Yoon-ho to you?
