The beloved Minions are canonically immortal, according to Pierre Coffin, the co-director and voice actor of the Despicable Me franchise.
During promotional interviews, Coffin addressed the absence of female or elderly Minions by explaining their indestructible nature. He joked that the creative team actually attempted to write scenes where Minions die, but the characters "seem to always come back" no matter the circumstances.
The films fully back up this claim of immortality. Throughout the franchise, Minions regularly survive being crushed by heavy objects, blasted into outer space, and swallowed whole by predators. They even easily shrug off exposure to lethal radiation, walking away from every extreme hazard without a single scratch or permanent damage.
