What makes this species truly remarkable is its dramatic courtship display. The striking blue "horns" on its head are actually specialized feather structures that only appear during mating season. Similarly, the vibrant blue and red "bib" on its neck is an inflatable lappet that expands fully to capture a female's attention.
Complemented by a bright orange body covered in intricate white spots, it stands out as a visual masterpiece. Fascinatingly, once the mating season concludes, all of these vivid, dramatic features deflate and completely disappear, allowing the bird to blend back into the forest.
