Hatsune Miku Is Taking Over a Tokyo Metro Line This Summer

Hatsune Miku is taking over the Tokyo Metro in a massive collaboration with ice cream giant Lotte. Running through July 27, the campaign features a fully themed train on the Hibiya Line, with every single cabin adorned with artwork of Miku alongside popular VTuber Hoshimachi Suisei. The immersive design even extends to the train floors and seating, which are decked out in a refreshing blue-and-white aesthetic.

The collaboration extends well beyond the daily commute into a specialized lodging experience. From July 5 through September 27, the Lotte City Hotel Kinshicho is hosting a dedicated "Summer Coolish & Sou Room" featuring a massive Hatsune Miku display and a private freezer stocked with ten different ice cream flavors.

Guests booking this limited-edition room also receive exclusive memorabilia, including custom stickers, a commemorative key, and themed Coolish cushions. This pop-culture takeover mirrors iconic past commuting events—such as Tokyo's famous Pokémon Ditto train—bringing a vibrant, fan-centric energy to the city's transit system and hospitality scene this summer.
