Crunchyroll Is Expanding Into French Animation With Four New Titles

Crunchyroll is expanding its horizons beyond Japanese anime by announcing four brand-new French animated titles. This strategic pivot is fueled by growing investments in local European animation, partially driven by new streaming regulations. Leading the slate is Dreamland, debuting in October 2026. The series adapts Reno Lemaire's popular French "manfra," following Terrence—an 18-year-old whose battle with pyrophobia grants him the power to control flames within the Land of Dreams.

In 2027, The Wolf will arrive as a tense psychological thriller set in the Alps. Adapted from Jean-Marc Rochette's graphic novel Le Loup, it follows a shepherd tracking a predatory wolf, with a star-studded French voice cast. Meanwhile, Musketeer Nanako offers a cross-cultural blend under director Balak. Teased at Japan Expo 2026, it tracks a 17th-century Japanese samurai who sails to France to find her father, crossing paths with the Three Musketeers.

Rounding out the lineup is Reminiscence Adonis, adapted from a Korean manhwa by Studio Brain Comet. The story follows two reborn rivals as they clash and rebuild their strength, though the series does not yet have an official release date.
