A New Umamusume-Inspired Steam Game Lets You Bet on Anime Girl Races

A new Umamusume-inspired title, Derby Heroines: Run, Bet, Win!, is galloping onto Steam on August 5, 2026, with a Nintendo Switch port to follow. The single-player game features over 100 anime girls to train and race, an in-game gacha recruitment system, and realistic race betting.

Unlike Umamusume's hands-off training style, Derby Heroines requires real-time skill activation. Each racer has a single-use skill, ranging from knockbacks to defensive shields and a "Mirroring" ability that reflects debuffs back at rivals. Players must manage stats like stamina, acceleration, and pace across different running styles (such as Closers or Front Runners).

The game boasts a polished presentation, including full audio commentary in Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, and French. To add a layer of tension, players can use in-game currency (never real money) to place single-winner or top-three forecast bets on any race.
